Vivaldi, with over 21 years of experience in the healthcare sector across Latin America and the Caribbean, is dedicated to simplifying the vital task of caring for life. Their mission is to enhance healthcare access. They do this across many countries and in many different ways.
They have worked with UNOPS ten times before, in multiple different countries purchasing and installing a variety of different medical equipment and carrying out the training to use it. For this project, they are contracted to install pulse oximeters into ambulances, train the users and the run a three year after sales support plan.
Having this equipment onboard ambulances, and knowing how to use it supports the capability of ambulance and hospital staff to save lives.
Vivaldi’s work involves managing and executing projects that strengthen hospital infrastructure and healthcare networks. Vivaldi are the conduit between NGOs, government entities and manufacturers, to get the right equipment, devices and services sourced, delivered, installed, tested at the site and do the after-sales support in local communities ensuring access to health.
Through their brand Amigo Corazón, they also specialise in preparing spaces and training people to respond effectively in cases of sudden cardiac arrest in Colombia. Their innovative approach is to not just sell in the equipment (an Automated External Defibrillator) but to sell a managed service allowing companies to focus on their core business while staying prepared.
Vivaldi is currently designing a Human Impact Frontier Fund which will make it easier to commit to projects quickly when the need arises as the prefinancing will be available to support them.
The activities funded by this loan are helping to achieve the above Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the UN.
This initiative is part of a larger project to strengthen the health network in Perú and other countries, aligned with UNOPS programs. UNOPS has delivered more than 1,300 ambulances across different countries, building national emergency response capacity and reinforcing the resilience of health systems. The incorporation of pulse oximeters and related training, together with the other medical devices needed to have an ambulance ready to be used will directly enhance this regional effort, ensuring that ambulances are better equipped to save lives and provide reliable pre-hospital care. Without partners such as Vivaldi being able to deliver aspects of these health strengthening projects they would not happen. Success will be measured by getting all equipment installed on time, and training sessions delivered.
