It is a series of announcements here at LendForGood! We are delighted to share that in earlier this year we passed our 50th and 51st loan milestone (and are closing out 52 and 53 as we speak!). From quarterly idea meetings to digital platform 1.0, we’ve facilitated 50 impact loans to impact enterprises around the world.
Hear from Chief Impact Officer, Tom Dawkins on the big milestone:
“In Australia, it’s the summer season so we’ve got cricket on the brain…
In cricket, scoring 50 runs is a chance to take a moment and acknowledge the community of supporters, then you re-focus and get on with trying to score 100.
That’s how we feel upon hitting the 50 successful campaigns milestone at LendForGood. These 50 successful campaigns validate our approach to democratising impact investment to unlock the capital impact businesses need to grow, and we want to acknowledge the investors, partners, advisors and social entrepreneurs who helped us get here.
But mostly what we want to do is put our heads down and keep working hard to grow our community, build our network of due diligence partners and support more great businesses to grow their impact.”
~Tom Dawkins
Speaking of partners, our 50th and 51st loans were a delightful mix of old and new partners. Tun Yat raised their 3rd loan with us with the support of long-standing partner Red Hat Impact their intermediary, meanwhile Liberty Society raised their 1st loan with us with new intermediary partner Harapura Impact. From Myanmar, to Australia, to Indonesia our borrowers and intermediaries were connected with lenders from around the world to create impact and business growth.
We spoke to Hujjat, CEO of Tun Yat to hear why they’ve returned to LendForGood for support:
“LendForGood has been a strong and reliable partner, delivering back-to-back lending finance that acted as catalytic capital to finance more village farmer development committees, while easing some of our cash-flow constraints with a growing list of input suppliers that our farmers were ordering from.
We believe the flexible and adaptive approach applied by the LendForGood team has been their key strength, in enabling us to provide more flexibility and to grow out this ecosystem between lenders, input suppliers, and village committees.
For Australians working in S.E Asia, like myself, I am amazed by the generosity, patience and understanding of fellow Australians and many others within the LendForGood network, that are willing to give in support of grassroots programs, that build communities, creating more havens, that generate more prosperity, alongside more capacity-building amongst the populations they serve.”
