Insights On Getting To $3m: Lessons from LendForGood’s Impact Journey

Celebrating $3M deployed, we reflect on key learnings shaping LendForGood’s roadmap to $10M.

In May, we hit a huge milestone at LendForGood: $3 million in deployed impact capital. It was a moment of pride for our growing community, and a powerful reminder of what’s possible when everyday people come together to invest in the world they want to see.

But it wasn’t a simple journey.

That $3m represents hundreds of decisions, countless conversations, and years of refining a model that puts access, impact, and trust at the centre. And as we look ahead to our next big goal, $10 million in impact finance deployed, we see this milestone as a chance to pause, reflect, and share what we’ve learned along the way.

What Got Us Here Won’t Get Us There

In this short video, LendForGood Co-Founder and CEO Cameron Neil shares key insights from our journey so far—what worked, what challenged us, and how these lessons are shaping our path forward.

Some highlights include:

  • The need to scale our systems: reaching $10m will require more than doubling down on our triumphs. It’ll take smarter processes, deeper partnerships, and even stronger community alignment.
  • The power of trust: whether it’s trust in the platform, our borrowers, or among co-lenders, building credibility has been critical to our growth.
  • The value of clear storytelling: campaigns that connect emotionally and clearly explain the impact tend to perform better because people don’t just want to invest, they want to feel part of something bigger.

Why This Matters

LendForGood isn’t just another platform. We’re building a global movement to democratise access to impact investing, and the journey to $3m proves that when you lower the barriers, people show up. Almost 50% of our active lenders are not male, a gender balance that far exceeds the global average for investors. Our borrowers come from Asia, Africa, and Australia, spanning sectors from employment opportunities for marginalised communities to electric motorcycles to child nutrition.

We’re proud of what we’ve achieved together as a community but we’re even more excited about what comes next. To read more about the role of partnerships in getting to $10m, read our other post Partnerships For Impact: Joining Efforts With LendForGood .
