This May we hit a major milestone – AU$3m in deployed impact capital! To celebrate the occasion we hosted a live event looking out how far we’ve come, what we’ve learned in the last 3.5 years of operation, and our plans to reach $10m. This is part 1 of 3, sharing bitesize nuggets from the live event and we hope readers can revel in the success of the LendForGood Community – because without collaboration, this could not have happened! LendForGood’s Journey to $3m
LendForGood is a global impact debt syndication platform, with the goal to harness the power and passion of everyday people investing in what matters to them. Our first impact campaign launched in December 2021 with the Centre For Armed Violence Reduction supported by their intermediary Red Hat Impact and successfully raised AU$40k.
Since then, the platform has seen impact campaigns from a range of borrowers from for-profit ventures, to social enterprises, and non-profit programs. LendForGood’s portfolio consists of 43 loans deployed to 25 borrowers with 17 intermediaries onboarded to represent them.
Our model and mission statement emphasises on democratisation and removing barriers to participation which our impact metrics speak to. With borrowers from Asia, Africa, and Australia the capital is distributed globally; almost 50% of our active lenders are not male, a gender parity that performs higher than global investor representation. Both of which statistics we believe down to the democratisation and accessibility the platform provides for impact investment.
Co-Founder and CEO Cameron Neil addressed the LendForGood community in the embedded video below on these milestones and reflects on the 8 year journey of LendForGood from conceptualisation in 2017, to first loan campaign launched in 2021, and the big $3m deployed mark in 2025.
