Borrower's mission

Dash is driven by the vision of creating a sustainable logistics sector in Indonesia that reduces urban pollution while providing businesses and drivers with affordable, scalable solutions. Our journey to achieve this mission has uncovered key insights that continue to shape our business.

Firstly, there is a growing demand for green logistics solutions, yet businesses often face cost barriers when attempting to integrate electric vehicles (EVs) into their supply chain. With cities like Jakarta grappling with billions in healthcare costs due to pollution, the need for sustainable last-mile delivery is urgent. However, many companies are primarily focused on price over sustainability. Dash bridges this gap by offering green last-mile logistics at competitive rates, ensuring that businesses can meet their sustainability goals without compromising on cost efficiency. Our tailored EV logistics solutions allow businesses to save on costs while cutting emissions, thus aligning commercial and environmental goals.

Secondly, while many drivers see the benefits of EVs—such as lower operational costs—high interest rates and ownership costs make it difficult for them to transition from traditional vehicles. We’ve partnered with financing institutions and EV manufacturers to offer accessible rent-to-own programs that enable drivers to own EVs without upfront costs. Backed by long-term client contracts, we’ve been able to negotiate favourable terms for drivers and accelerate EV adoption.

Our long-term ambition is to become the leading provider of green logistics in Indonesia, scaling our EV fleet, expanding into new cities, and launching tech solutions to enhance delivery efficiency. As we expand, we aim to create a win-win ecosystem where businesses achieve their sustainability targets, drivers gain access to affordable EV ownership and stable incomes, and the planet benefits from reduced emissions. By 2028, we target reducing over 1,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions per month while growing our revenue to $23.3M, creating both commercial success and lasting environmental impact.

The activities funded by this loan are helping to achieve the above Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the UN.

Impacts and how they are measured

The loan will directly accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) in Indonesia’s last-mile delivery sector, reducing carbon emissions and improving air quality in urban areas. By scaling our EV fleet, Dash will enable more businesses to transition to sustainable logistics solutions, cutting CO2 emissions significantly. We estimate that for every 100 EVs deployed, we can reduce up to 50 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year, contributing to Indonesia’s broader environmental goals.

From a social perspective, the loan will allow us to provide more drivers with access to affordable EV ownership through our rent-to-own program, reducing their operating costs by 40-50% compared to traditional fuel-powered motorcycles. This empowers drivers to earn a stable income while contributing to a cleaner environment. We’ll track these impacts by monitoring the number of EVs deployed, the amount of CO2 reduced, and the financial uplift for drivers through increased earnings and ownership of EV assets.

In terms of measurement, our impact will be tracked through the number of deliveries completed using EVs, CO2 reduction data calculated based on kilometres driven, and data from our rent-to-own program, such as the number of drivers transitioning to EV ownership.
