Grain Silo And Vehicle To Continue Impact in Nepal

Sarvaguna Foods & Kitchen

Loan successfully funded

Sarvaguna is raising capital to expand its catering services in Nepal. A new vehicle will allow deliveries to more schools, and two grain silos will enable them to buy grain at lower prices during harvest season. This will also let them produce more in-house products like noodles and bread. Buying at the right time ensures guaranteed purchase quantities, providing farmers with revenue stability.

Loan summary

Sarvaguna have two clear needs to continue growing their impact around food. On one side of their impact is providing good food for mass consumption. To grow this they need a new temperature controlled vehicle. They currently have 2 vehicles but need more to be able to service more schools. Schools with their own kitchens receive ingredients only, but others receive cooked meals. To grow the meal delivery service they need a good quality temperature controlled vehicle.

The other side of Sarvaguna’s business is ensuring quality ingredients and fair prices paid to farmers. Having two grain silos will allow them to do both these things. Previous storage solutions have been too small and not insect resistant. Grain silos allow them to buy at the best time of year when supply is high so they can achieve prices allowing them to provide Good food at good prices. It also means they can provide more farmers with certainty that their produce will be purchased.
